How was your summer so far? Were you on vacation to some nice places? I haven't had my summer holiday yet, but I will at the end of the month.
Though it actually is summer, the weather here has been rather shitty. But still I didn't have too much time to draw, though I've been pretty productive the past few days. This journal entry is also an update about some stuff I've been working on.
I have a nice number of scanned drawings still on my HD which I have to upload in the next days, but I really don't want to spam you, so one drawing after the other...
I started a series of drawings on black paper which I'm really pleased with but I'll definitely wait with the upload until I finally have a nice scanner. Has any of you a good advice about scanners? I would really like to buy an all-in-one printer since I also need a new printer.
The black paper series kinda helped me to get over a slight artist block. I was just really bored by drawing portraits, so this new medium came in really handy. Still I have to get my teeth into some new techniques or materials or whatsoever, though I don't quite know what that will be...
One thing that was always bugging me was the look of my artist's comments under my drawings here on dA. So, I finally read about some html codes to fix that. I also want to draw me a new avatar soon.
I'll finally have my first exhibition at the end of August! I'm so thrilled. It's an exhibition of several artists from the area I live in and I really don't know what is awaiting me. The exhibition will be held for 4 weeks, open on the weekends, so plenty of time to show my works. The hardest part is to decide which drawings I will take with me
For this exhibition I also reworked an old drawing I kinda liked, but since I hung it right above my workspace there have been several errors that have been bugging me, but now I really like it. I will upload that too, someday... probably
Enough rambling. Thank you for reading this far. Here have a cookie for your patience:
Cheers,
Judith
